The structure of PU synchronous belt comprises three parts : the belt back, tension
layer and belt teeth.
(1) PU belt back
The back of the belt is used to felt and cover the tension elements; therefore, it sh
ould have good flexibility and flexing fatigue-resistance performance ; it should be anti-aging , oil-resistant and wear - resistant ; on the inner side of the back there should be point angel grooves of appropriate sizes made not only to meet technical de
mands but also for purpose to improve the anti-wear performance , meanwhile , part of
the noises shall be eliminated due to the escaping of the detained air between the be
lt and the gear teeth through these grooves during its running.
(2)Steel wire rope (or Terylene rope) tension layer Tension layer is the tension memb
er of synchronous belt, used to transmit power and make the pitch keep unchanged duri
ng its running.It takes multiple strands of steel wire ropes ( or Terylene ropes ) to
wind spirally in the width of the belt and, the tracks where these ropes go are defin
ed as the pitch curve of the belt . The tension layer should have a very high tensile strength and anti-flexing fatigue strength ; the modulus of elasticity should be high
and no elongation should be allowed during working so as to guarantee that the pitch
of the belt does not change.
(3) PU belt tooth
Shear resistance, wear resistance and oil resistance are highly demanded by the teeth
of the synchronous belt. The arrangement of the pitch should be accurate with the tee
th of the belt and the teeth socket of the pulley properly joggled, therefore, the ge
om etric parameters of the belt teeth should be strictly ensured. Noted for the remar
k able performances of oil-resistance and wear-resistance, the PU synchronous belt is applicable to high-speed circumstances of from medium to small power transmissions wi
th a dry environment and working temperature ranging within -20¡«+80 C. |
